Fair Gun Control

The Gun Control Act addresses issues concerning guns. Any person may find information through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (atf.gov). A Teen Boy, who can own a gun, is accused of shooting Elementary School Children in Connecticut. People prohibited from owning firearms is listed in 18 USC 922(g) and 18 USC 922(d). The Arms Export Control Act describes which types of criminals who are forbidden to ship, transport, receive or posses firearms.

It is odd how a person is forbidden to drink alcohol until age 21, yet an 18 year old has legal rights to own firearms. Anyone who is or was in a mental institution and drug addicts may not own guns. It should include anyone who is legally incompetent according to the law. Incompetence includes people who are under18 years old. Someone drafted these laws ensure Teenagers are able to own firearms.

Perhaps lawmakers are considering the rights of Parents in relation to the Second Amendment; however, according to most laws considering minors a Legal Guardian assumes responsibility and must sign waivers to make contracts legally binding. If a Parent wants their Child to learn gun safety it isn't difficult to keep guns in the vault unless going on hunting trips or signing at a shooting range.

Adults own all the guns. In special circumstances a Minor may use a gun while under adult supervision. If a Teen gains gains access to guns via theft or other illegal actions they exonerate Guardians from legal responsibility because it was out of their control. This is should be the law.

Adults must keep guns in a vault and take responsibility for firearms. Fines for contributing to Minors should be assessed. Keep firearms away from Teens.

I find it odd that a Teen cannot buy a car or be an employee, yet they can permanently end another person's life. There is no way to reimburse this action. Even considering laws around Militias, a person may not join the Military until turning 18 years old.

In regards to Militias, an actual ground war in the United States would should override gun control laws. Every fighting person should be able to defend the country. There might be a need for additional laws. If there is a ground war in the United States almost every gun control law becomes obsolete because there is a much greater threat to the country.

During a war, anyone who can shoot should have a gun. Stores should be able to sell or give guns to anyone because there is a major concern that Invaders could access to a list identifying anyone owning firearms. It would be easy to find and take away firearms; ergo, it makes sense to scatter firearms to everyone to create uncertainty regarding who owns guns.

This is similar to the idea of United States currency. Our currency is based on an honor system. A foreign country would have had to invaded and conquered United States for our currency to lose value. Our problems are far worse than and inability to cash in US Treasury Bonds to get interest on the note.

Gun control is an issue. Several shootings in the country were instigated by Teens. Making it illegal for Teens to own guns will not stop all crimes involving guns. Even with this in mind I cannot think of many incidents wherein an adult shot into a crowd of people for no apparent reason. In any argument gun control laws should adhere to existing and similar laws.
