Kudos to US Leaders

Lately the political atmosphere of Washington D. C. is wonderful. Everyone is focused on resolving national issues. Some may say President Obama is being bullied by the Republicans; however, recently "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was repealed. Kudos for Congress, they balance agendas, while reaching a compromise.

Compromise is the principle on which the United States was founded. As the Constitution was drafted founders compromised in order to move forward. Some wanted a strong federal government, while other wanted state rights. Another issue revolved around protecting individual citizens and minorities. This is how the concept of a Federal Constitution with separate State Constitutions was developed. The Bill of Rights was added to ensure equal rights amongst all citizens, protecting the ideals of Martin Luther who believe all people, no matter how great or small, are entitled basic human rights.

The concept behind drafting the Bill of Rights has a glorious history in aiding suffrage movements and bringing about the necessary changes to unite the country. Imagining a modern United States without compromise is impossible.

Kudos to everyone involved in the political process from Lobbyists to Congress, Political Activists to the President. Everyone did well in getting part of what they want in order to addresses ongoing dilemmas.

The press has made broad statements about Presidents Obama's presence in Washington D. C; however, Republican agendas are economic or orientated towards military. Recently, the bill to extend tax-cuts was renewed for both the wealthy and middleclass. Another compromise protects small businesses and extends unemployment benefits.

It is clear both the Democrat and Republican Party are working together. Perhaps when economic growth occurs and unemployment levels are a comfortable four percent volatile party politics will reemerge; however, it is comforting knowing leaders of the country will not stand idly while people suffer.
