Greater Independence

Women's Suffrage is an ongoing project. For many hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years society enforces division of responsibility for the purpose of raising children. Some women never marry nor have children. Women only lose Rights to Property to their husband after marriage. Affirmative Action assists women in getting jobs and becoming independent. How much longer until women demonstrate competency? How will women achieve independence?

A few decades after gaining the Right to Vote there are various strategies for gaining respect. The rise of the Feminist Movement was met with retaliation and suspicion from both men and women. Men worried about sexual distraction. Women needed to wear padded bras. The first Sexual Harassment Lawsuits were won in the Supreme Court. The most vicious gossip was women who hold jobs did not want families or neglect their children.

Later rumors of infidelity and decline in pay threatened the nation. Several rumors involve Politicians and Employers conspiring to make every man and woman work in order to afford basic living expenses. In current times, it looks as though several people did raise housing and food expenses so this is becoming true.

The "Bro Code" interests women. It is known as the code for how men function as a team despite emotions or instincts to fight amongst themselves. Women should be able to adhere to rules against harassment and form teams with women.

Higher levels of education and maintaining professionalism might be the best plan. Efficiency and effectiveness demonstrates competency. Being able to keep a job, provide for family and buy essentials proves independence.

Women could develop tactical methods of self-defense and leverage with a Pro-Feminist Team. Then we would have resilience against men's Bro Code. However, it might cause unpleasant hostility at work. Men and women get fired. That will teach men to stop treating women as inferior. Self harm to hurt someone else is faulty. Independence is not about hurting men.

Generally when fights, civil unrest or public nuisance distracts everyone at work all participants are laid-off despite whether they are instigating or defending. It is easier than figuring out the cause of problems. Being overly aggressive is method for marriage. Woman who spend time harassing; instead of, learning their job go to the Unemployment line or becomes House Wives after difficulty finding work.

Several people imitate the other gender's behavior. Men hire a bunch of attractive women and women hire a bunch of attractive men. Showing women can do it too is not always productive. They were probably promoted to work with women, yet they find women difficult to work with; instead of, becoming a mentor. Men already prefer working with each other and now women prefer working with men. Who hires women needing jobs and opportunities?

A war between men and women is not feasible. The ideal is entertaining, yet men and women coexist together. Defining strategies is taking awhile to hone.

I have worked in two corporate offices that predominately hire women. Most corporations are coed. Sexist judgments deteriorate, yet suspicions of quality of work are prominent. When an incompetent woman loses her job after leaving her boyfriend, an Executive, one person proving a stereotype does not reflect on all women. Several competent women work to improve stats and skills. They have value beyond dating the boss.

Though these incidents cast suspicion over everyone, do not attack someone for living the stereotype. People are responsible for their actions, including, nagging. The brightest employees with outstanding stats disprove judgment with quality work though it becomes nagging when every other person assumes the negative stereotype. Corporate offices employ hundreds of people.

Without support it is difficult knowing if the job is being done correctly. As a woman, it is frequently difficult to receive honest feedback. It was years before realizing people were really saying, "You're doing well for a woman." It took time to gain critical skills on my own. Women frequently retaliate against criticism; instead of, calming emotions and benefiting from insight.

One day we will figure out how to maintain independence and coexist with everyone. Laws should be fair. This problem needs to be fixed immediately. It bothers me that women are able to sue for sexual harassment and rape. Equality means everyone has the same entitlements. Perception deems men are sluts. It reminds me of the legal defense of pedophiles. The girl or boy was not sexually active or capable of understanding sexual conduct.

People under the age of 18 years old have protection under the law, yet teachers are harassing students. The law states any minor must have parental guidance in making life decisions. Getting someone pregnant is a huge decision. Getting a reputation of being sexual impacts a person's life. In cases involving a women declaring rape, this activity of luring them into sexual activity because they do not understand the consequences of actions is coercion.

The stereotype of men being sluts should not legal rights. I do not know how many men will exercise political and legal defense to Rights to their Body, yet we all know our bodies are the only property we own with absolute certainty. It bothers me when television and film depicts peers harassing a boy into having sex is an accept passage into manhood. It is bizarre.

The divisions between men and women are awkward. Now women are favored in divorce. Women in the 70s lost everything in a divorce because she did not technically own anything. Is raising your own children a burdensome task? How much are women owed? How long will it be until there is a realistic system for maintaining independence and everything is fair?
