Religion verses Government

The biggest issue sweeping the nation, according to the news I watch, is the Catholic Church not wanting to pay insurance coverage for birth control. Feeling they might have a point the premium for birth control is virtually nonexistent. Everyone has religious freedom, yet in this incidence it is as simple as not using the option.

The Blunt Clause is an extreme concern. The Blunt Clause states an organization can decline benefits because of, "religious belief or moral conviction." This sounds nice on the surface. What does this amendment imply?

Perhaps a Business Owner does not believe in blood transfusion or interference with God's Will; therefore, Business Owners no longer have to supply health insurance options to any employee according to their beliefs, even if the company is not part of a religious organization. Since it has to apply to everyone, employees of another religion do not qualify for inpatient health insurance or any medical procedure that requires a blood transfusion. Jehovah Witnesses believe blood transfusions are similar to drinking blood which is against the Bible.

Other religions suggest praying for a cure. God casts out the demon (illness) with sufficient prayer. Communal prayer is not covered in most if any health insurance programs. This is fine for their beliefs. While an argument states medical procedure is the answer to a prayer, there is nothing stopping employers declining health insurance to all employees. What stops Business Owners from claiming Health Insurance is against their moral convictions?

There is a biblical passage to simplify contracts. Individuals are responsible for their own destiny and employers pay employees in evening for all work that day. There is a warming against taking responsibility for another person's earnings. Everyone is responsible for making their own choices with their earnings. The Blunt Clause allows people to legally break Union Laws protecting Employee Rights.

Ideally, in relation to this biblical passage, Insurance Companies should group all policyholders together to offer lower rates. Individuals chose if they want insurance. Individuals also chose the insurance company they feel provide the best service. Currently Health and Dental Insurance is an option. Companies must provide a Health Insurance Option. Technically, forcing anyone into managing employee's earnings is against several peoples' religion.

The resolution to this dilemma is unknown. Businesses have difficulties staying in business because of additional responsibilities in association to their employee's lives. The entire retirement debacle would be inert if people were given all of their earnings without deductions. They choose how to spend their money, place it in savings, buy essentials and prepare for retirement. It is the Employee's capabilities determining their future.

In the broader sense of the bill, Catholics deciding they are different from everyone and are able to change the law because of a religious conviction is ridiculous. Many citizens constantly conform to government mandates that interfere with religious beliefs and moral convictions. Though not wanting the birth control option employees make the decision. If health insurance is important to employees I guess they better start praying.
